Michelines

Michelines is a short theatrical piece written and performed by Michel-Maxime Legault, building on the success of his previous solo show Michelin. This time, he turns his attention to two women who share the same first name — his mother and his aunt, both called Micheline — exploring their personalities, their resilience, and the irreplaceable role they played in family life.

Legault portrays his frank-speaking, warm-hearted mother, while actress Frédérike Bédard takes on the role of the lively, scene-stealing aunt whose presence always sparked conversation. The piece is a heartfelt tribute to a generation of women whose lives didn't always match their dreams, yet who shaped the people around them in lasting ways.

The show is directed by Marie-Hélène Gendreau and blends humour, clarity, and genuine tenderness. The creative team includes dramaturgy by Marie-Noëlle Blais, set design by Jonas Véroff Bouchard, costumes by Virginie Leclerc, lighting by Keven Dubois, music by Antoine Bédard, movement by Fabien Piché, and video by Eliot Laprise.

Performances follow a 5-à-7 early-evening format, starting at 17:30. Each ticket includes one drink and a snack. Seating is general admission. The show runs for 12 performances between September 8 and 25, 2026, at the Coulisses du Théâtre Jean-Duceppe. Tickets are sold through Duceppe and are listed as coming soon.
